Inclusive Nursery and Primary School
A school open to all children, with or without disabilities, for quality inclusive education.
The inclusive nursery and primary school is open to children with disabilities and non-disabled children. It includes a nursery section and 6 primary classes. At the end of the cycle, students receive the Primary School Certificate (CEP). Visually impaired children are taught Braille. From the fourth year, they learn typing, white cane use, mobility and orientation training.
Support for visually impaired students
The school also supports visually impaired young people in secondary schools, high schools and universities in Yaoundé. Our teachers translate their documents into Braille and support them during exams.
Psychosocial support
This service promotes psychosocial support at Promhandicam and in 5 partner ordinary schools: CJARC, ESEDA, Nkomo Public School, Administrative Center Public School Group IA and IB, and Nkondongo Public School.
Our history
Founded in 1977 by PROMHANDICAM as the School for Blind Children. In 1996, it became an integrated school welcoming non-disabled students. In 2010, it opened its doors to students with specific needs and was renamed the Inclusive Nursery and Primary School.
